Interorganizational homophily and social capital network positions in Malaysian civil society

چکیده

The interorganizational relationship communication literature has identified homophily – the tendency for actors to form ties with similar others as a mechanism predictive of tie formation among organizations in civil society networks. This study examined connection between and network structures equated different types social capital perceptions influence. Using survey data gathered from Malaysian (n = 90), exponential random graph models autologistic actor attribute were used test association characteristics networked positions bridging, bonding, gatekeeping. Results showed that bonders brokers tended be influenced by homophily, whereas gatekeepers heterophily homophily. Homophily was also associated likelihood CSOs rating each other more influential on government reform.
